Trip to Koh Chang Mar 13

There are some places on earth that remain less explored because not many of us know more about such places. Koh Chang is one of such destinations that have remained unknown to tourists and explorers for a long time. If you take a look at the history of Koh Chang, there were hardly a few explorers who even knew anything about Koh Chang because the place was very much self-sufficient and had little communication with any other location in Thailand. If you are one of those who love to travel to places that are less explored than you can pack your bags and head to Koh Chang.

Koh Chang is the second largest island in Thailand and is around 300 kilometers away from the capital city of Thailand. The island is named after the most favorite animal here in Thailand, the elephant. Koh Chang in Thai language means the Elephant Island, but strangely you will not find many elephants here in Koh Chang. Today, this island plays an important role in the transport of food and other necessary items because of its strategic location. Koh Chang is one of the closest islands from mainland Thailand and therefore it becomes easier for the people of other islands to pass their items through Koh Chang.

If you are traveling to Thailand than make sure you do take a halt at Koh Chang for few days and enjoy sunny beaches and mountain cliffs here. Like any other island, you will surely find white sandy beaches where a lot of international tourists come down to tan their bodies. If you are passionate about adventure sports, than you can go ahead for rock climbing, trekking and mountain climbing sports as well. Hence, Koh Chang has more to offer to each and every tourist who comes here.

When you are in Koh Chang you will never have to worry about hotels and restaurants because the place is packed with a lot of accommodation facilities. The locals prefer to open up their own hospitality and accommodation services because they are aware of the rising number of tourists here. The climate here is hot and humid throughout the year, but it rains heavily from June to October and therefore tourists should avoid going to Koh Chang during those months. The island of Koh Chang has no airport and therefore the best way to reach Koh Chang is through ferries from Ao Thammachat and Ngob Pier. If you are not sure about getting ferries than you can take a bus from Bangkok and it will take you around five hours to reach Koh Chang.
