Thailand’s waterfalls are very beautiful and attractive, waterfalls of Thai has always been liked and appreciated by visitors and even by the localities. There are many country boats and hundreds of waterfalls almost in every area of the territory. Whichever part you visit you will find a waterfall close by, Thailand is a place rich in natural resources, and when they talk is about Thai waterfalls, there is nothing much impressive than that. Thai waterfalls are termed as’n am tok in their local language.

There are two waterfalls that are very popular in Thailand, and one should make an attempt to visit them as these waterfalls are really wonderful and can make your day pleasant. One of them is the Haew Narok Waterfall and the other is the Haew Suwat Waterfall, and if you are interested in viewing some more than the Chongfah Chong Fah waterfalls is located in the northern part of Khaolak Thai Muang region, there is also a Lamp hi falls located in the same region, the size of the waterfall is medium and the division is made in three stages.

The Huay Kaew Waterfall is having two different waterfalls, he Pha Ngerb and the Wang Bua Baan. If you prefer to have an excellent view of these waterfalls and rejoice in the cool shade of the trees around, you have to maintain a distance of around 100 meters, the view of this waterfall is wonderful that it can refresh your mind. It is a good place for a holiday with family, sitting at a distance; admiring nature’s beauty and peace all around, it can be a best experience of your life away from all tensions and can make your day filled with excitement and fun. And the good thing is that the waterfall is nearest to the city, it may be a ten minute drive from the city center and a marvelous place for a picnic.

The Na Muang waterfalls are also very famous and are located in the south central peaks of the island. A smooth entry road directs the main road linking the Hua Thanon, south of Lamai, to Nathon. There are, in fact, levels to the fall. To reach the top most levels you may require marching on foot or an elephant, then can help you in reaching there. And the lower level is about thirty meters high and the water keeps flowing over a sheer rock, the water pours into a shallow pool and this can be a perfect place for swimming.

There are five important rivers, which are used for an irrigation and agricultural purpose. The listing of these rivers is as follows the Prachin Buri River, the Nakhon Nayok river, which is located in the southern region and is very useful for an agricultural purpose, then comes the Lam Ta Kong River, the Praplerng River, which is located in the northern region, the water from these rivers is required for the cultivation of the Korat Plateau. And the Muag Lek Stream that is situated in the northwest region and water flows to Pasak River that is in the Muag Lek area and is very useful for cultivation and farm animals and the water is available throughout the year.

Now if we observe the climatic position of Kow Yai, there are basically three seasons they are the rainy, cold and the hot season. Rainy season is from May to October, in these months it rains a lot and there is a constant waterfall, and the average temperature would be around 27° C, and after the rain the place seems to be beautiful and admirable. In cold weather that is from November to February, this is the best period for visiting Kow Yai, as cool climate is perfect for hiking and the sunset view is mind blowing. In the day, the temperature is around 22° C and in the night the temperature drops it can be around 10° C and the hot climate starts from March and remains until April, this weather is mainly dry and the view of waterfalls is not available in April, as the water flow is very less. The temperature keeps varying between 20° C- 30° C. In summers the place is less attractive due to dryness and humidity.

If you are planning for a holiday trip that would be memorable and at the same time would not burn a hole in your pocket than tour Thailand. Although, it is not among the best tourist locations, it certainly is nothing less than a paradise for those who love to mix themselves into new culture and new experiences. Thailand is a place that provides you with a lot of activities and relaxation as well. You will find a lot of ethnic culture, food, customs, traditions, places and people that will take you into a new world that you would have never heard about.

Today, Thailand earns around six percent of its national GDP through tourism and as per the travel experts; Thailand will soon become one of the most preferred locations in the Southeast Asia because people do not have to spend out more on their tour. The ferries and bus transport in Thailand is comparatively cheaper and therefore international tourists are willing to move from one part of the country to another without any problems. As per the survey in 2009, more than 14 million international visitors had visited Thailand which is a growth of 7 percent from the earlier years and it is expected that the number of visitors to Thailand will grow in 2010 as well.

If you are planning to tour Thailand make sure that you find a good hotel over there which fits your budget rather than going for expensive accommodation. Since Thailand has more natural resources, the real pleasure is when you enjoy your stay in natural environment like on beaches and places around beaches. However, if you love to visit Thailand when it is not crowded than make sure you visit Thailand in the month of January to May because during these months you will find that there are not many tourists around and the weather too is warm so you can make the most of out the weather.

Thailand has a lot of attractions apart from natural landscapes. If you are in Thailand make sure that you visit places like Phanom Rung, Buddhist temples and other World Heritage sites. If you love to participate and watch the culture of Thailand than do watch some of the favorite festivals in Thailand like Songkran, Rocket Festival and Phi Ta Kon festival. These festivals mostly happen in the month of March to May because the climate is pleasant and warm. You can even try the delicious Thai cuisine when you are roaming different places in Thailand.

In Western Culture displaying affection in public is very general, holding hands and greeting one and another with a kiss in public is very common, but when the discussion is about Thai culture, their culture is quite different from other foreign countries. Thai people do not show their affection in public. It is very important to present you properly, Thai people notice the behavior of visitors and behave accordingly, and they are very formal with visitors. There are few tips that can be helpful to travelers, as it is very important to have a general idea about the culture of Thailand.

There are many travelers who come from countries where there is a lot of freedom, and they usually show their affection by kissing or by giving a warm hug as it may be very common in their country, and they are used to this type of culture. However, in Thailand the government officials maintain a very standard status. The people of Thai are very self esteemed, and they do get close very easily they behave very formally with visitors.

Thai culture is very different and unique; there are four basic methods to greet a Thai person. The first way is to join your hands together, and then lift your hands to varied positions facing your face, and the fingers should point up with your thumb close to the head. While greeting Thai official’s one thing to be made sure is that the fingers should be a bit higher and near the nose. You can also bend a little to show respect. The Thai people feel very happy, if you respect their culture.

In Thai culture the greeting is passed on as a wai, Wai is greeting by bowing slightly, and palms joined together in the same manner as we offer prayers to the almighty. Wai is a very general way to apologies or thank someone. And if we get in contact with a service person or visit any restaurant than the wai that is have been recommended is with that the tips of your finger should reach your chin’s height. Happiness of wai is very general if it is your first visit to Thailand.

Secondly, Thai people are followers of Bhuddism; they do not get angry easily, a visitor should be calm and should not get angry soon, if you get angry or panic soon, then they will term you as a “Jai roon” which means a person who cannot deal with his emotions. They respect people who stay calm even under stress; they give importance to Jai’s yen, which means being cool even in worst situations.

If you are in Thailand you should definitely visit other places other than Bangkok which is the largest and the capital city of Thailand. Samui also known as Ko Samui or Koh Samui lies in the Surat Thani Provinces and is considered to be one of the beautiful islands in Thailand. Couples who are planning to spend their holidays here will definitely enjoy the serene and calm atmosphere here in Samui. This island is the third largest island in Thailand and therefore you will find a lot of locals and international tourists coming here throughout the year.

Since Samui is an island people traveling to this location will enjoy the scenic sunsets and lovely beaches here. The place is loaded with lot of coral reefs and coconut trees and those who love to be with nature will find themselves in paradise. Samui Island has a lot of natural resources that makes this different from others. According to history, Samui Island were once isolated and therefore most of the people who were living here in the past had to live their lives on their own and therefore they made the island self-sufficient by growing and harnessing the natural resources as per their requirements.

Samui Island is surrounded by more than 60 other islands and therefore sunrise and sunsets are one of the best times to be at the beach. Since beaches are the best attraction in Samui Island, most of the local population lives around the beaches. Additionally, you will find a lot of hotels, restaurants and nightlife activities happening around the Samui beaches. These beaches have a warm and tropical climate and therefore it rains only from the month of May to November. However, the rest of the months face a warm and dry climate which makes it a perfect spot for those who want to enjoy the sun and sand combination. Samui Island has its own airport which connects Thai airways from mainland Thailand for quick transport service.

You may be preparing to buy a suit from a Chiang Mai tailor when you come through the northern Thailand mountain city, and that’s a great place to start when looking for quality craftsmen. But there are also plenty of tailors, domestic and foreign, who have settled in Chiang Mai looking for a quick buck. If you don’t know the difference between a good suit and a bad one, you better learn to tell the differences between different kinds of tailors.

Here are 5 criteria to keep in mind when searching for a good Chiang Mai tailor:

1. Reputation

First off, high quality tailors don’t stay secret long. You talk to the right people, and you can be willing to bet you’ll get a recommendation you can count on. Are there tailors in the city who are highly skilled and dependable but don’t yet have the reputation?

Yeah, I’m sure there are, but in your short time that you’re here, are you coming to gamble or get a guaranteed high quality suit at a cheap price? Go for the sure thing. See what people are saying online, talk to some expats, or talk to some local Thais who wear these kinds of clothes themselves.

2. In Hot Pursuit

A tailor whose services are in high demand isn’t going to pursue you down the street trying to make a sale. If you haven’t been to Thailand yet, you might think I’m trying to be funny, but this is exactly what 90% of the tailors do—at least in the tourist centers.

Never buy a suit from someone that desperate for business. In fact, never buy anything from someone that desperate for business if quality is mandatory.

3. Overseas Service

Do they offer an overseas service? The well-established reputable tailors often come overseas to satisfy a growing demand for their services in foreign markets. They frequent big cities around the world and take measurements to send back to their tailors in Thailand.

Not only is this a good indication that they are delivering quality suitable to European and American standards, but it offers you a great opportunity to keep the cheap suits coming back at home.

4. Testimonials

Usually, a good Chiang Mai tailor will have plenty of on-site testimonials. Be careful though—anyone can make up a testimonial.

If all of them are misspelled with poor grammar and have nothing but a first name, it could be something they slapped together. Photos are nice, and a link to a website is even nicer.

5. Multiple Fittings

Typically, if a tailor tells you its okay to just send them your measurements or pushes you out of the shop saying they have all the data they need, you might want to stop and think a bit. A lot of times, a new suit is going to need adjustments, and if you’re not there for those second or third fittings, you’re likely to get a lousy fit.

While this may not always work with your travel plans, I’d be weary of a tailor who doesn’t at least try to tell you to stick around until the suit is finished.

Thailand is a great which had attracted tourists from all over the world since many years. The major contribution of Thailand’s GDP comes from tourism industry. Thailand’s government is playing a major role in developing tourism industry. The major tourist attractions of Thailand are one of the best flora and fauna of the world, bird sanctuaries, Buddhist temples, various heritage sites of World repute and archaeological sites. Thai cuisine is also one of the major cuisines of the world. There is use of medicinal herbs in Thai cuisine.

Boxing also comes in the tourist attractions of Thailand. Muay Thai kick boxing is the most famous and widely practiced boxing technique all over Thailand. Muay Thai is sometimes called as “Art of Eight limbs” or “Science of Eight Limbs”. It is because of the fact that in this type of boxing technique there is use of punch, knee strikes and elbows and as a result there is use of eight points of contact. Muay Thai kick boxing is superior as compared to Western Boxing in which two points of contact are used. The person who practices Muay Thai boxing is referred to as nak muay.

There are two types of techniques which are used in Muay Thai kick boxing. These are Mae Muay, also called as major techniques and Luk Muay, also called as minor technique. In this type of boxing there is hard hitting exchange o f hard hitting blows among the practicing persons? The major focus of Muay Thai boxing is on the conditioning of the body which is analogous to the major sports practiced all over the world. By practicing Muay Thai kick boxing a person can be of great fitness level. In all the techniques of Muay Thai kick boxing there is movement of the whole body and also there is rotation of hip with each kick, punch, elbow and block. With the use of rotation of hip technique Muay Thai kick boxing is superior and distinct to other martial art techniques of the world. There is also very much use of core muscles in this type of boxing.

The various other tourist interest places includes shopping malls in capital city, Bangkok, where great variety of local and international brands is available. In north of the capital city there is largest market of the world where the tourists can get anything ranging from household items to various endangered species of animals.

Are you passionate about islands? If you are someone who loves being close to the sparkling blue water and the sunny blue sky than you should take a trip to Koh Nangyuan in Thailand. The place is just a small island but you will find plenty of activities to do there. The island is very close to another island name Ko Tao and most of the tourists prefer to take a ferry from Ko Tao and reach Koh Nangyuan. Since the island is very small it does not have an airport and therefore ferries are the best way to reach this small natural island.

However, unlike other islands you will have to pay some amount of fees to enter the island. The island is a perfect place for those who enjoy peaceful environments and if you are in Koh Nangyuan it is best to halt for a day because than you will be able to checkout the sunrise and sunset scenes for yourself which are quite magnificent. However, if you hate crowd than try not to go on the beach during the afternoons because the beaches are packed with international tourists who come here to enjoy the sun and sand combination. However, many of them move out of the island by evening so a walk on the beach with your loved ones will be an out of the world experience.

If you are visiting Thailand with your friends than a trip to Koh Nangyuan is worth because you can enjoy a lot of activities here along with your friends. The island is a perfect spot for divers and therefore you will find a lot of divers who come here to enjoy the underwater scenes. Water activities like underwater diving and snorkeling are really famous here and therefore make sure enjoy these activities when you are in Koh Nangyuan. Once you are done with the water activities you can halt at any of the hotels and relax yourself. Many of them even relax themselves at the beach.

Like most of the islands in Thailand, Koh Nangyuan also has a tropical climate and therefore it remains warm and humid during most of the months, but there are rain showers here during September which continues till December. However, it does not rain heavily and therefore you still have a chance to visit the island during the rainy season as well. Though, the island is small in size compare to other islands of Thailand, Koh Nangyuan has a lot of activities to keep visitors busy throughout their trip.

Koh Chang is one of such destinations that have remained unknown to tourists and explorers for a long time. If you take a look at the history of Koh Chang, there were hardly a few explorers who even knew anything about Koh Chang because the place was very much self-sufficient and had little communication with any other location in Thailand. If you are one of those who love to travel to places that are less explored than you can pack your bags and head to Koh Chang.

Koh Chang is the second largest island in Thailand and is around 300 kilometers away from the capital city of Thailand. The island is named after the most favorite animal here in Thailand, the elephant. Koh Chang in Thai language means the Elephant Island, but strangely you will not find many elephants here in Koh Chang. Today, this island plays an important role in the transport of food and other necessary items because of its strategic location. Koh Chang is one of the closest islands from mainland Thailand and therefore it becomes easier for the people of other islands to pass their items through Koh Chang.

If you are traveling to Thailand than make sure you do take a halt at Koh Chang for few days and enjoy sunny beaches and mountain cliffs here. Like any other island, you will surely find white sandy beaches where a lot of international tourists come down to tan their bodies. If you are passionate about adventure sports, than you can go ahead for rock climbing, trekking and mountain climbing sports as well. Hence, Koh Chang has more to offer to each and every tourist who comes here.

When you are in Koh Chang you will never have to worry about hotels and restaurants because the place is packed with a lot of accommodation facilities. The locals prefer to open up their own hospitality and accommodation services because they are aware of the rising number of tourists here. The climate here is hot and humid throughout the year, but it rains heavily from June to October and therefore tourists should avoid going to Koh Chang during those months. The island of Koh Chang has no airport and therefore the best way to reach Koh Chang is through ferries from Ao Thammachat and Ngob Pier. If you are not sure about getting ferries than you can take a bus from Bangkok and it will take you around five hours to reach Koh Chang.

Thailand is a land rich in experiences, whether it’s a spot of shopping, some cultural sightseeing or just lounging on one of the many stunning beaches.

With the vast majority of the population practising Theravada Buddhism, Thailand is a welcoming country filled with smiles and good graces. Ninety-five per cent of Thailand follows the Buddhist religion and its cultural and historical significance can be seen throughout the country – expressed through stunning statues, temples and iconic orange robed monks.

Some monasteries are open to the public so you can experience the aura of peace and serenity but you must be respectful, wear modest clothing, remove your shoes and not touch or take pictures of any Buddha image. When you’ve found you inner peace, experienced some stunning Buddhist temples, done some elephant trekking and had your fill of the stunning arts and crafts, it’s time to hit the beach.

Thailand is home to some truly sumptuous beaches. Powder soft sand will scrunch beneath your toes as you make your way down to the bright turquoise waters that caresses the coastline, the perfect place for snorkelling and diving.

If you’re looking for a beach party, the Full Moon Party is one of the best. Set beneath the full moon it has an idyllic setting but just be wary of anyone selling/offering you food or drink and say no to any drugs, they are illegal in Thailand and you could end up in a lot of trouble.

If the beach isn’t your scene or you fancy a little retail therapy, Bangkok is a shopper’s paradise. Whether its authentic Thai silks, designer labels or fresh food, there are malls and markets to fulfil your every need. The Siam Paragon mall is perfect for designer labels and it’s probably best to stay away from the ‘designer’ goods at markets, they aren’t always as ‘designer’ as they first appear.

For a more authentic experience markets such as Chatuchak Market and the Suan Lum Night Bazaar offer thousands of stalls selling silks, traditional jewellery and silverware. There are also 24-hour tailors or dressmakers who can conjure up a stunning suit or outfit in, well, 24-hours though you may want to give them a little longer.

To really get a feel for a traditional Thai way of life, drift between canoes piled high with produce at one of the along at one of the floating markets. The best and most well known of these is the Damnoen Sudak, but arrive early or all the best bits will be gone!

Boxing is a renowned sport which is viewed all over the world by thousands of people. To find out the facts about this incredible sport read this article.

Boxing is a combat sport in which two people, male or female of similar weight fight each other with their fists. Boxing is supervised by a referee and is normally played in a series of one to three minute rounds. There are three ways to win one way is by knock out meaning the opponent is unable to get up before the referee counts to ten seconds or if the opponent is considered too injured to continue meaning a Technical Knockout. If there is no stoppage of the fight before the end of the rounds, a winner is decided either by the referee’s decision or by judges’ scorecards.

History

Boxing has been around for many years dating back to the ancient Greek times where it was first seen as a formal sport and this was when a set of rules where designed and tournaments were staged. Boxing was first recognized as a sport round about 688 BC and really evolved in Europe. Boxing is known around the world and many countries have their own fighting sport which is set around boxing but may be named differently and have different rules and regulations. There are numerous different styles of boxing practiced around the world such as French boxing in France, or in Burma with Burmese boxing and in Thailand with Thai boxing.

Equipment

When participating in this aggressive, forceful sport it is very important for both opponents to have the correct equipment to prevent damage to weak parts of the body. For boxers to participate on tournaments and events they must wear boxing gloves with wrist wraps as the wrist wraps are used to secure the bones in the hand, and the gloves are used to protect the hands from injury, allowing boxers to throw punches with more force. Also boxers must wear a mouth guard to protect the teeth and gums from injury, and to cushion the jaw.

The Rules

The rules within boxing are taken very seriously and may differ from country to country. The rules in boxing have been designed for the safety of the boxers.

When in the ring boxers are prohibited from hitting below the belt, holding, tripping, pushing, biting, spitting or wrestling their opponent. They are also prohibited from kicking, head-butting, or hitting with any part of the arm other than the knuckles. If a boxer violates these rules then they may be ruled as fouls by the referee, who may issue warnings, deduct points, or disqualify an offending boxer which may cause an automatic loss depending on the seriousness of the foul committed.

If you’re looking for a vacation spot with a little bit of everything, Koh Samui should be your port of call! This Thai island lies off the east of the Kra Isthmus and as Thailand’s third largest island, it has enough to do to entertain even the most discerning tourist. With plenty of beach-front resorts that will have you living just meters away from the water, let this island show you some of the best of what Thailand has to offer.

If you re a nature lover, be sure to take advantage of the many day trips into mountainous jungle interior of the island. Keep an eye out for the waterfalls, especially for Na Muang and Na Muang II. The former is 18 meters high while the later stretches up a dizzying 80 meters. While the former can be accessed by vehicle, the later can only be reached via a 30 minute walk. If possible, see both of these natural wonders during your stay. If you are interested in some of the wildlife of Thailand, Koh Samui has a crocodile farm, a monkey theater, a butterfly garden and an renowned aquarium, and that’s just for starters!

When you’re tired of the wildlife, check out the nightlife! Koh Samui boasts many bars, discos and cabaret shows, especially in Lamai and Chaweng. Check out the Raggae Pub and the Bauhaus for dancing that can last until dawn. For live music, head down to the Beach Pub at Secret Garden. This stretch of beach has become an international gathering place for professional and semiprofessional musicians, and live sessions take place every Saturday afternoon, attracting large crowds of people, all ready for a party!

One of the best reasons to make Koh Samui your vacation destination is the water; the waters of this beautiful island are crystal clear, making for some of the snorkeling and scuba diving in the world. If you’ve never gone scuba diving before, there’s not time to start like the present; you’ll find plenty of schools scattered along the coastline that are willing to teach you.

If you ave an interest in physical sports, come to Koh Samui to take a look at the the Thai martial art, Muay Thai boxing. This martial art has become the known all over the world for it’s intensely fast action and close combat fighting style; in Koh Samui, you can see matches that will show you what this form of boxing is truly capable of. Chaweng Stadium holds matches every Monday and Friday, while you can see fights every Saturday at the Lamai stadium.

To see what life may have been like more than a century a go, be sure to visit Koh Samui’s oldest standing house in Ban Thale. This structure was made out of teakwood without the use of any nails. Constructed of teak planks and adorned to with traditional Thai woodcarvings, this house can show you some of the decorative motifs and styles that can still be seen in Thai design today.

Koh Samui has a lot to offer, so make sure that you plan a vacation there soon. Between the tranquil beaches and the lively bar scene, there really is something for everyone!
